GOODS-SHED FOR TE ROTI.

la the House recently, Mr McGuire asked the Minister for Eailways if be will make provision on the Supplementary Estimates for the erection of a goods-shed at Te Boti ? He hoped the Minister would be able to give a satisfactory reply. As there were a great many other questions on the Order Paper, he would not detain the House; and, besides, this was an old friend which he had the honour to bring before the present and late Minister for Eailways on many previous occasions. He sincerely trusted that the Minister's answer would be so satisfatory that this would be the last time it would be necessary for him to ask this question. Mr Ward (Minister for Railways) agreed that this was an old friend ; but, as there were more pressing works standing over, the Te Boti goods-shed was not considered a matter of urgency, or, at any rate, it should not be provided for until more urgent works had been completed. The traffic at Te Roti was very small, and not sufficient at present to warrant the erection of a goods-shed until the business bad increased. He would recommend the honourable member to do his best to get the traffic incrensed, and then he might have some claim in this respect. Mr McGuire said it was impossible for the traffic to increase until the sottlers had a goods -shed to which they could send their produce.
