Reprint from the London and Provincial Musio Trades Review, October 15, 1889 :— 11 At the recent competition held in London by the Musical Trades Association of Great Britain, open to Pianoforte Manufacturers throughout the World, for an upright iron grand, the Instrument Manufaotured by William Sames, Ltd., Birmingham and London, obtained tbe highest possible number of marks in nearly every one of the twenty-three particulars. A large number of manufacturers competed, both English and foreign, and it is satisfactory to know that tbe result is in favour of the British workman. The examination, which was conducted by about seven experta in Pianos, was a severe one, and as no maker's name appeared on any of tbe Instruments, there is no doubt as to its fairness.
