COMMERCIAL.
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, October 1. The largest and most important sale of store cattle held in the Auckland province took place at Papakura to-day, when the New Zealand Loan & Mercantile yarded and disposed of 3000 head of cattle. Owing to lightness of tho beef market, caused by large shipments from the local Freezing Company, prices were higher than for ten or fifteen years past. Grown steers brought from Ls2s to L 7 6d; two-year-olds, Lslss toL6l3s; cows, L 2 15s to L 4 14s; calves, LI 8s to L 2 11s. The class of stock was better than has been seen here for some years.
