ANNEXATION OF COOK ISLAND GROUP.

Wellington, Ootober 1.
The Governor, accompanied by the Hon. Hill - Trevor, proceeded, trader orders from the Colonial Office, to Cook Islands last evening in the H.M.s. Mildura, to perform the ceremony of the annexation of the group. They will return in time to be present at Christchurch on November Ist. Lady Eanfurly and daughters leave on a six months' trip to England next week, via Sydney, by the s.s. Arcadia.
