A few months ago a meeting was held to form a volunteer corps, when about 60 or 70 men gave in their names as willing to join, bat, as permission could not be got, the affair fell through. Mr Maokie, the hon. secretary to the proposed corps, has now received a wire from the Government authorities, intU mating (hat a rifle olub will be aooeptod, and asking if the men are still willing to join. A meeting is called for to-night, in the Town Hall, to take names of all who ate disposed to join.
