A MURDEROUS ASSAULT.

Dtjnedin, September 80.
A man named William NichoHa, laborer, was arrested to-day for an assault with intent on Mary Ann Windsor. It appears they quarrelled about money matters, when Nicholls struck the woman a blow in the face with % knife, inflicting a wound about 2£ inches in length on the right cheek. The woman was taken to the hospital, but her injuries are not regarded as serious.
