Despite the ruin the bowlers received no assistance from the wicket.
Efayward was affected by the sun, and Rhodes fielded as substitute.
[The position now is that the Australians have wiped out the deficit on the first innings, and have 102 on for the loss of six wickets.]
[Seeing that on Wednesday, the last day of the match, the Australians made 183 runs and when the cable was despatched, probably at lunch, had still five men to bat it would seem thai, if these latter made anything of a stand, the Englishmen would have to bat against time in order to get a win. If, as is possible, the result comes through late this afternoon it will be posted at tha Stab publishing office.]
