The Wilde-Queensbury Libel Case
(PER PBESS ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, April 5. Tbe chargo of libel against the Marquis of Queensbury finished to-day, a verdict of not guilty being returned. The jury considered tbe charge made by Qaeensbury to be of public benefit. Wilde's counsel withdrew from the case, and Wilde bimself left tbe court wbile his oounsel wae explaining tbat plaintiff's literature and letters jdßtified the plea of the defence tbat Wilde posed as an immoral person. He explained that tbe reason he withdrev from the case was so aB to avoid tbe appalling evidence wbiob would be adduced. The verdiot was received with loui cheers. It is expeoted Wilde will be arrested. No warrant has yet been applied for, but counsel for tbe Marquis of Qaeensbnry has sent the Public Prosecutor a statement of witnesses and notes of evidence in order to prevent a miscarriage of justice.
