AUCKLAND, June 15.
A number of Mr Eiohard Monk's friends and supporters presented him with an address expressive of esteem and regard for bis public and private services as tbeir former representative in Parliament, accompanied with a cheque for close on £800. Mr Massey, M.H.E., was among those, present. Mr Monk,- in aoknowledging tbe gift, made, spme strong' remarks on the Premier and tbe Minister for Education in connection with tbe last election for Waitematai' Tbe following resolution was unanimously carried :—: — " That the Waitemata electors assembled' at this meeting are of opinion that the election oi Mr Massey ia a complete vindication of Mr B. Monk in the eyes of the electors." ,
