It has been very skilfully Compiled, and the direotory part, which takes in all- the towns between New Plymouth and Palmerston North, has been most carefully correoted. The -books will prove invaluable to' the farmer, for it contains information on every subject he requires to know about, and there 1 is evens " Dairyman's Eeady^Beokoner." ; The: almanac is very neatly printed in good legible type, and altogether is a credit to the office from which it ia issued. We have to acknowledge with thanks the receipt of ! the Star Almanack for 1894. It Shews, like eaoh of its predecessors, an increase, of interesting and instructive matter "of'feome forty pages, and is now one of the most 'useful ' hooks of reference for town or country ; indeed, no out settler should ba without a copj, as he will find it a veritable " dictionary of daily; wants." Among the latest additions will te found a. list of the valuations in local government areas along the whole coast, and also the principal operative clauses of the Stook: Act, Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act of last session, together with the Fencing 'Act., , The direotory covers the district from New Plymouth to Palmerston' North and WoodyiUe/and will therefore be found sufficiently comprehensive to suit anyone. It would; be difßoult to obtain a more usefully complete work, while very few of suoh publications can boast .of equally careful compilation, distinct letter press, and general good 1 - get-up, and the work, reflects the greatest credit upon the; office from which it is published.
