A special meeting of tbe Domain Board wae beld on tbe evening of tbe 7th mit« Present — Messrs Wilson (chairman). Meredith, Lloyd, and ISisley. Thi chairman Btated tbat a gentleman from the Government bad visited Normanby r$ ihe erehaoeo. of the land, who bid ioformed Mm tbat it woald be oeceseiry for tbe Domain Board to take torn* action an the Government had neeived & petition against tbe exchange, asd that it would be • necessary to call a pnblit meeting or send in a counter petition. He bad . therefore called tbe meeting to decide wbat eboold be done. Mr 8»l«y said he bad seen tbe Government official, and that it was the ranger (Mr Barrow), and he had visited the tooality to ascertain it tbe signatures to the petition were genuine. Mr Meredith §aid he ooald voucb for tbe signatures being genuine v he got np tbe petition. Moved by Mr Mereditb, seconded by Mr Lloyd, That a public meeting be beld on Saturday next to discues the exchange of tbe recreation reserve, and that the same be adveruied in tbe Stab, meeting to be held in tht Town Hall, and obair to be taken at 8 p.m.— Carried. Tbis beiog the whole of tbe business tbe meeting adjourned. Mr Smith Sullivan, not O'Sullivan as I wrote before, has taken possession ot tbe Imperial Hotel.
