(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON. Jane 23. The following additional fixturee have been arranged for tbe New Zealand Football team :— July 4, v. Eighteen Juniors of New South Wales; July 6, Northern B?anch Union, at Newcastle.
Tbe following team will represent the Normanby Juniors in the matoh against Manaia, at Manaia to-morrow: — Moore, Robflon, P. Meredith. Evans, Doherty, Bishop, G. Haywood, V. Riddle, Dale, Forthouse, Eowe, Delamore, Tarrant, F. Meredith, Rorangi, and Williams. Emergencies : Miller and' Waite. Tbe match will beg^n at 9.15. The team will meet at Normanby at 1 p.m. sharp. On Thursday two junior matohes were played in the northern division. Clifton Rovers defeated Tukapas by 4t points (potted goal) to 2- (a tx*y) ; and Stratford boat Stars by % to %
In the football match at Wellington Wednesday, Alf. Bayly and A. Good each scored a try. The latter showed great pace. Tbe New Zealand Bugby Vnion team left Wellington for Sydney on Thursday evening by the Wakatipu. A large number of/ tbe public wera present, and the team received. a,^ood send off. The following team will represent Waimate against Normanby on Saturday, at Manaia : — W. Morton,' K. Donnell, F. Beeohy, N. McEae, Newing, Porcbas, Righton. W. Foreman,, B. McCarthy, A. Carroll, S. McKay, h. Take, W. Glenn, T. Tait, 2ft. Carroll. Emergencies :. D. Edwards, H. Knight, and W. Carroll.
Referring to the late football matoh between Waimate and Patea, the Press says : — The match waa contested through* out in a most friendly spirit, and notwithstanding the fact that tine borne team were hopelessly outmatched ia weight and strength by the visitors, a very .prominent iealara in the game was the total absence of anything approaching roughness. Tbe dodgy running of tbe Good Brothers was greatly admired by everyone on the ground, and whenever A. Good set off at top speed with tbe ball the " barrackers " shouted out, " Look out for Carbine," " Collar Carbine," etc, which remarks were both funny and ap. propriate, as be certainly did "gallop" round and through his opponents at top epeed.
