(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, May 21. The liquidators in the English, Soottish, and Australian Chartered Bank, London Chartered Bank of Australia, and Colonial Bank of Australasia will pay Victorian bills. Tbe Commercial Banking Company of Sydney will pay discount on insufficient bills. The Bank of Victoria and the City of Melbourne Bank have not had time to arrange payment. It is neoessary for the Victorian Government to remit £220,000 before the Ist June, to enable an offioial notice of the payment of interest to be made. The Standard says that the soheme for reconstruction of the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney is an improvement on the other schemes, no share being foisted on the depositors.
