In Committee in the House of Commons on the Home Rule Bill, Clause 2, providing that " with exceptions, and subject to restrictions in this Act mentioned, there shall be granted to ths Irish Legislature power to make laws for the peace, order t and good government of Ireland inrespec* of matters exclusively relating to Ireland or some part thereof," was carried. There was muoh disorder during the debate, The further consideration of the measure was adjourned until May 80th. Discontent at the want of firmness shown in Mr Mellor, Chairman of Com mitteea, is increasing on all sides. The Chicago Exhibition. <» . (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WASHINGTON, May 18. The Chicago Exhibition is to be kept open on Sunday, despite the fierce opposition of the officials. This action of the authorities will entail the forfeiture of half a million sterling gi anted by the Congress. NEW YORK, May 18. The number of visitors to the Chicago Exposition is decreasing, and the Fair is not paying working oxpenses.
