-•>- (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, May 20. Lady Glasgow delivered no address to a meeting in connection with tbe New Zealand Mothers' Union last evening. There were some "300 ladies present, and a number of clergyman. Lady Glasgowexplained the objeotß of the union, which was undue nominational and open to everyone. Tbe principal object was the proper bringing up and religions training of children. No subscription is required. Tbe Railway Commissioners say they do not intend to repudiate tbe agreement made when taking over the Te Aro line, but persist that the sanction of Parliament is desirable before tbe construction of the goods shed. At a meeting of licensed victuallers, the prohibition agitation was discussed. Tbe general expression of opinion was that those in tbe trade should take a dignified stand and act only on tbe defensive, leaving all aggressive action to tbe " well* meaning but misguided enthusiasts, wbo are striving to establish a system of intolerable tyranny, repugnant to all the fair play loving instincts of the British »cc." ______
