' The final report of tbe Select Committee ' upon the establishment of a National Btyik has been laid on the table of the Afcemblv* It suggests the establishment jttf a bank as not only practicable, bnt tirgintly neoessiry, and tbe members of Km committee consider that suoh an institution would add greatly to the Wilfaw of the community. They believe it would be a Source of profit and saving to the Government, and would conserve fht financial credit 'of the colony. Its functions would inolude the sole right to Inn* a note currency, and tbe transaction of*the bUßinesa oi all the Government departments.
