In the ', event of the Land Board out-voting you iri'any base affected by these instructions, please communicate by wire ;' tbe board postpones to next meeting the coneidera* - ion of all proposed transfers and proposals to complete purchases, and proposals affecting titles." '• ACQUIRINQ EBEEHOLD. Mr C. P. Johnson applied to acquire the freehold of seol 17, block 16, Huiroa. It was decided to defer consideration till next meeting, as the ranger's report did not show sufficient improvements. NO POWBB. -Mr E. Exley wrote, asking if tbe board would accept payment of JBIOO in satisfao* tion of the capitalised value of section 60, fclock 8, WaimatP, on the grounds tbat he did not think he would be able to pay the whole of it off within the prescribed time. The board decided tbat it had no power • to accede to the request. EXTENSION OF TIME. . M* W. fl. Leech aeked for two months' extension of time to comply with the final conditions of improvements on Bection 1, Hock 14, Waitara. Agreed to. , MANGANUI BOAD BOABD. Tb.9 Maneanui Road Board applied » for permission to take lrd. 30p. from Bection 49, block 10, Huiroa, held by Mr W. G. Gate. Approved of. '<-">'■ HAWEBA. The Surveyor-General wrojie to the effect that the board should be recommended to dispose of section 146, block 5, Hawera, under clause 118 of " The Land Adt,- 1892," a3 land of special value, at not leaa than £13 per acre. On the Hon. Mr Kelly's motion, seconded by Mr Stock, it was decided that, the land be offered at the upset price named, as the land is of special value, being in grass, and surrounded by cultivated lands, and contiguous to the town of Hawera. TIME WANTED. ' Mr Major, on behalf of Mr W. L. Tocker, wrote, asking for time to pay the balance of purchase money on section 283, Stratford. The board resolved to inform Mr 'Tooker that unless the money is paid on or .before Saturday, 13th inst, the deposit will be forfeited. ' ' *' DEFERRED. , A letter waß read from Mr. J. G. Haddow, with regard to his application to have portion of seotion 9, block 6, Kapara, out off for him, stating that the purchase would depend upon his obtaining a transfer of seotion 7, adjoining. The matter was allowed to stand over till the applicant obtains a transfer of Bection 7. OPAKU. Mr. Major wrote re the residence condihons under whioh he held tun 6, blook 9, Opaku, and aßked for time in which to comply with the conditions. On the Hon. Mr. Kelly's motion seconded by Mr. Livingston, it waß resolved :— " That the board has no discretionary power to give leave of absence in tbe oaae <>f Mr. Major, aSvthe Aot of 1885, under which the land wflß selected, makes residence compulsory within one ypar, and only gives the board power to extend leave of absence when the selector resides within ten miles pf the run selected. Ab this condition is not complied with, the board has no option but to enforqe tbe forfeiture for non-fulfilment of conditions." ' "' DEFAULTERS. A schedule of selectors two or more payments' in arrears wpß- laid before the board, and it was depided that notioes should be issued to defaulters to pay up arrears, or show cause why the holdings Should not be forfeited. IMPROVEMENTS. A report of the ranger npon improvements effected on various holdings was submitted, and a reslution passed, calling upon' those in default to show cause why their sections should not be forfeited for non-compliance with the conditions.
