THE HOSPITAL MOVEMENT
A meeting of the Hospital Committee was held on Tuesday evening, present : J .the Mayor (Mr. Major), Meßsrs. Hood, < Oaplen. Wbittington, Davidson, Brunette, tnd Parkinson. < Mr. Brunette moved that an Industrial ; Exhibition be beid for the purpose 0! adding to the hospital food. The mover - sketohed out a number of departments of . - lndostry which he thought would be represented, and stated that everyone to whom he bad spoken .had promised ' toordial assistance. Mr. Oaplen seconded, and the motion 1 was unanimonely agreed to. Tbe question of calling a pnblic meeting waß mooted by tbe Chairman, and it was generally agreed that to be a success the exhibition and the perching forward of tbe ; hospital project must be taken ap heartily by a large number of people. The hope was expressed too that tbe energy would not be confined to the town, and that tbe , wbole county would assist. It was decided that a public meeting be called, and a sub-commitee was appointed to arrange for it. Tbe date was fixed for Friday, 24th inst.
