WOOL SALES.

LONDON, January 26.

At the wool sales 7925 bales were offered, but they were a poor selection. The competition was good and the attend* anoe fair. The price for combings was on a par with tbe rates ruling at the close of the December series. Faulty sorts were in favour of buyers. New Zealand rabbit skins, fair to good, brought Is 4d, and medium to fair Is 2d.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have reoeived tbe following oable message from their London office, dated 24th inst. : — Wool — Tbe sales opened this day at the level of last sales. .Attendance of both Home and foreign buyers is active, Tbe American demand ib good. The total quantity available, including wool held over from last* series, is 895,000 bales, 108,000 bales of whioh have been forwarded to the manufacturing districts direot.

Murray, Roberts and Co. have received the following cable message from their London correspondents, Messrs. Sanderson, Murray and Co., regarding the first series of wool sales : — London, January 24 — Sales opened with good attendance of buyers. Market shows no change. Markets irregular.
