TARANAKI GRASSES.

In another column the Egmont Agricultural and Pastoral Association appeal to settlers to uphold the honor of the district by providing a good representation of its grasses for inclusion in the New Zealand agricultural trophy to be displayed on the occasion of the opening of the Imperial Institute. No part of the colony can do better in this respect, probably no part of the world, and if a creditable and repreaentative collection be made it must evoke comment and enquiry as to the district of production. There is nothing like advertising what we have, for people cannot be expected to know of our whereabouts or our advantages by intuition, but if we put oar productions before them then we may expect to get advantage from the information given. Therefore, it is to be hoped that settlers will assidt. It is a busy time no doubt, but if each who has opportunity will do his share the final result is certain to be creditable, and it is worth a little individual effort to have tbis part of the colony fairly represented in a New Zealand display.
