MESSRS NOLAN, TONKS & GO.'E STOCK REPORT.
Our Opunake sale was held on the 10th inst., but the weather was so inclement that a quantity of stock advertised did not come forward. At Manaia on the 12th, there was a good entry and keen competition for heifers and cows, while steers were somewhat neglected, but nevertheless we succeeded in making j sales of most lines yarded. During the week we leased, in Lucena's estate ' The Oaks/ 957 acres to Mr. E. Coxheadj and section 15, 71 acres to H. Spratt, and sold section 14 to H. Spratt. We quote :— At Opnnaket Yearlings (mixed), 34s to 475; yearling steers, 51s to 665; 2-year heifers, £2 17s 6d to £3 6s; c. springing heifers, £4> 10s to JBS; cows at * profit, JBS 10s to £6. At Manaia : Weaners, . 31s to 375 ; yearling steers. 53s to 675 ; 2-year-old do, £3 2b 6d to 7s; fat r bullocks, Je6; yearling heifers, 495 ; 18months to 2-year heifers, £2 17s to £2 18s 6d; cows, £3 12s 6d; cows and calves, £A 12s; springing, £4, 4a to JB4 15s; dairy cows. JB6 2s 6d to £5 10s.

Hawera, January 12. We held our stock sale in Hawera on Wednesday, the 11th inst., when we had a good entry of both sheep and cattle. There was a good attendance of would-be purchasers, but as the reserves on the stockin many instances were higher than they were prepared to go to, several r .lines had. to return home unsold. We ■>' quote : 2£ to 3-year steers, £4, 16s to £5 ; 18-months to 2-year do, £3 4s to £3 9s ; 9 to 18-monthß do, 51s to £3 lls ; fat cows, £A 6s to £4\ 9s ; store cows, JBS 18s to £i 2s; 2to 21-year heif era, £3 to £3 9s; 18months to 2-year heifers, 45s to £3; ewes and lambs, 9s Id per head.
MESSRS. HUNTER AND NOLAN'S REPORT.
Auckland, January 13. Cattle.— The number brought forward have been short of requirements, and a larger number of all classes would have i found purchasers at the previous week's values. There was a short muster at Newmarket on Tuesday. Competition was brisk throughout the sale, and had an upward tendency, beef reaching 24s per 100 lbs. Some averages of steers were : £9 6s, J6B 15s, £8 3s 3d, £1 8s 3d. £7 63 3d ; cows, £6 7s 6d, £5 16s £6 7s 6d, £4 15s, £4, 2s 6d, JB3 6s. Sheep were in moderate supply on Tuesday at the Newmarket yards, and prices were a shade higher. Wethers sold at from 11s 6d to 13s 9d ; ewes, 10s to 12s 6d ; lambs from 3s 9d to 10s 9d. Pigs, Bcarce, sold at 2*d per lb, live weight.
MB. NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY BEPOBT.
Naw P&tmouth, January 12. Cattle.— The rain came down steadily on Tuesday morning at Stratford, and I thought no sale would be held, but it cleared' somewhat at noon and a fair number of stock were yarded. Bidding was lively, and nearly all sold at an advance of 3s to 5s per head on last rates. Mr Blair's dairy cows elicited keen com-^ petition, and sold well. A very nice pen of fresh 3 r year-old bullocks from Mr. John Broughton, were much admired, and made JBslls. Small calves made 16s 6d, others 26s to 465, yearlings 45s to 625, 18-months heifers 51s 6d to 55; 18-months steers £3 6s to £3 7s; 2to 2*-year do £4, 7s 6d, good 3-year do 45 11s, store cows £3 7s 6d £3 17s, fat cows £4, 125. Mr. Blair's cows sold J at from £6 5a to JBB 2s 6d ; 1 store, £3 17s 6d. I At Waiwakaib.o on Thursday only a few were advertised, but the yards were crowded, luckily buyers, were down from up-country or there would have been a " freeze." As it was cattle sold freely and at better rates than last sale. Calves made 26s to 355, yearlings 46s to 60s, 12 to 18-months most heifers 625, 15 to 18month.B steers £3 to 453 7s 6d, 2-year do JM, 24-year good do SA Us, springing cows soldi reely up £7, springing heifers £A 10s to jBS 3s, cows and calves £4, 10s to £4, 16s, fat cows M 7a 6d to £5, backward dairy cows M, fat wethers Us 9d.
