Mr. Carly on, a sheep.farmer in Hawke'a Bay, was, I believe, tbe first to introduce this breed of pony into New Zealand. The main characteristics of the Oarlyon pony wen \ great strength, spirit, and .noiranee, united with a compaot niuaoalar frame. Tbe color was generally a rich cream with a dark streak down tbe baok.
