"Marvellous" Melbourne.
(per press association.) MELBOURNE, November 30. In the Legislative Assembly, it was stated that there are 16,000 unemployed registered on the books of the Labor Bureau, aDd that 12,000 houses are empty in Melbourne ; also, that unless something is done to provide bread riots might be apprehended. Sir Graham Berry replied that the Government were fully alive to the position, and liberal provision would be made in the estimates for carrying on poblic works with a view of giving relief.
