The Broken Hill Trouble.
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
SYDNEY, September 21. A deputation, which attempted to interview the Premier last night, waited on him to-day, to urge the release of members of the defence committee arrested at Broken Hill. Sir G. R. Dibbs told them the law must take its course. It was nonsensical to suppose any Minister couia take the responsibility of interfering The law wag npt pu.t in operation by epepial orders pf the Government. If the deputation approached Parliament with a petition, it would receive attention.
Matters were quiet to-night. The deputation addressed the men, and counselled peaceful speaking. They could obtain redress at the ballot-box. The censure debate is proceeding.
