Giffen took 2 wickets for 154 runs, MoLeod 2 for 78, Trott 1 for 90] Tamer 2 for 111, Lyons 1 for 21. The Australians first innings was as follows : Bannerman 12, C. Giffen 5, Lyons 28, Bruce 5, Tomer 10, Trott 0, Gregory 3, McLeod 20, Donvan 7, W. Giffen 8, Biaokbam (not out) 7, extras 5 ; total, 100. Lohman took S wickets for 46, Briggs 6 for 45..- The colonials bad to follow, on, the. scores being ; ; Lyons 19> Bannerman 1, C. Giffen 27T Bruce 37, Trotfc 16, Turner 6, Gregory 5, W. Giffen 2, MoLeod (not out) 8, extras 4.;- total for eight wickets, 124. With ,* only two wickets to fall, the Australians require 175 runts to save a one inning's defeat.

Owing to tbe rain tbe wicket was bad and almost unplayable.
