NEW YORK, January 12. A fearful railway accident is reported from Crawfordville in the State of Indiana. A train became derailed and fell over an embankment fifty feet deep and was nearly smashed to pieces. Two passenger were killed outright and 38 badly hurt, several fatally. One car rolled over thriceand eventually caught fire, but the passengers managedjjtp escape. The passengers on the tratnft included three theatrical company a, and, one actress was killed. HONG KONG, January 11. The reported suppression of the rising in Northern China is doubtful. OTTAWA, January 12. SYDNEY, January 13. The Government has received irom London a epeciai report on the English frnit market, as a means of absorbing the surplus fruit in New South Wales. The demand for- foreign fruit in England amounts to eight and a half millions sterling. In the report the opinion is expressed that while green fruit would form an immediate trade, the greatest trade would be in dried and candied goods.
