For the pnrposes of Native Land Courts the colony bas been divided into seven districts. Auokland (with headquarters at Thames), King Country (with beadquarters at Otorohanga), Gisborne. Rotorua, Wanganui, Hawke's Bay (with headquarters at Hastings), and Wellington (including South Island). Judge Maokay 18 appointed to Wellington distriot. Tbe others have not yet been appointed.
Mr. Sawers, dairy expert, denies tbat he has resigned.
Wellington Woollen Company pay a dividend of eight per cent per annum.
WANGANUI, October 16.
Tbe prisoner Kenny, convicted of arson at tbe last sittings of the Supreme Court, confessed his guilt to the gaoler this morning of having set fire to tbe Commercial Hotel while in a state of frenzy. He tried to put the fire out as soon &3 the deed was done, but found be could not. Sorrow was expressed for those injured.
DUNEDIN, September 15.
At the annual meeting of Direot Importing Co., a dividend of 7£ per cents as against 7 per cent last year, was declared ; also a bonua of four per cent on shareholders purchases.
AUCKLAND, Ootober 15.
Key Peter Mason, Presbyterian minister, wbo has been many years resident in Auokland, died suddenly last night.
