Horse Feed, Grain, Seeds, etc. — Although the stocks are large, prices for grain had a disposition to harden, but sales were effected at the previous week's quotations : feed oats, 2s to 2s 2d per bushel ; Tartars, Is lOd to 2s 8d ; oaten chaff, JB2 to JE3 10s ; few tons of carrots, 25s per ton. Horses. —An increased number was brought forward, but there was a corresponding demand. Sales were effected without alteration in value. A good many were submitted by auction at tho Durham yards on Friday. There was steady competition throughout the sale, and most of the lots were cleared. We quote — Hacks, £1 10s to i>l6 lss; light harness horses, £0 to jWO 17s 6d; draughts, £9 10s to .£l7. Wool, Hides, Skins, and Tallow— Average quantities were submitted at the Durham yards on Tuesday, and competition *as brisk. We quote— Ox hides, 4d to 4sd; cow hides, 3d to 3 Jd ; calf skins, 4sd to sd ; sheep skins, 2s to 3s lOd ; tallow, 12s to 13s per cwt. Cattle. — The improved demand noted last week has continued, and for fat beasts slightly advanced values wore given. An average number of dairy and fat beasts was yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday, but stores were poorly represented. However, there was a good number of the latter at Pukekohe on Wednesday. Prices for fat beasts at the cattle market advanced from 5s to 153 per head, but stores and dairy stock sold relatively better at Pukekohe. Calves sold at from 6s to 9s 6d ; yearlings, 9a to 17s 6d; eighteen-month-olds, 2s to 27« 6d ; grown steers, £2 10s to £3 ; cows. 23s to 358. Fat steers sold at from J65 10s to JB7 ss ; cows, £3 to £t> 7s Gd. Sheep — An incredible number was yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday, but the demand was far in advance of the supply, and con sequently fancy prices were given, 28s being realised for fat ewes. Pigs. — Pigs were plentiful, and were in good demand at from 2d to 3d per lb live weight.
