Particulars to hand by the mail of the collision between the Garonne and Lucinda show that tbe Garonne sighted tbe Lucinda ten minutes before the collision took place, the green light showing to green. The Garonne repeatedly signalled tbe Lucinda to port her helm, but no notice was tnken of the warning, and apparently no watch was kept on board the Lucinda. The Garonne struck tbe Lacinda amidships. Twenty of tbe Lucinda'a crew clambered aboard tbe Garonne. One man was killed by the collision ; another man was crippled, but refused to leave tbe Lnoinda, because be was unable to swim, and went down with tbe vessel, which sank in ten minutes.
