OKAIAWA FOOTBALL CLUB.

(from a correspondent). A meeting was held at Okaiawa on Saturday evening for the purpose of forming a Football Club. There was a fair muster. On the motion of Mr. John Scott, seconded by Mr. Hatcher, it was carried unanimously, That a Football Club be formed at Okaiawa, to be called the 11 Okaiawa Football Club." Mr. T. Joll was unanimously elected captain of the club. The subscription was fixed at 2s 6d per member. * Mr. C. Harkness was elected secretary and treasurer. Mr. R. O. Hendy offered one of his paddocks for practising. The offer was received with thanks, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to him by those present. Messrß. Carroll, Hatcher, and D. Murdoch, were appointed a working committee, with the captain and secretary as ex-officio members. It was decided that the club practice each Saturday, commencing at 1.80 p.m. Nearly twenty names were given to the secretary, and the new club promises to be a success.
