LONDON, May 22. Arrived — Ships Wanganui, Wellington, and Invercargill, from New Zealand.

Sir H. Parkes has cabled to Mr. Henneker Heaton that nine-tenths of the population of that colony (New South Wales) support the Government in their action in preventing the influx of Chinese, also that the Legislative Council are certain to agree to the bill. Thos. Condon, M.P., for Tipperary, has been sentenced to one months' imprisonment on a charge of having incited the Irish tenants to conspiracy. BERLIN, May 21. In compliance with the suggestion of the German official press, the Austrian Government are sending large re-inforce-ments to positions on the Gallician frontier. The Emperor and Empress drove I through the city to-day, and received a tremendous ovation. After the marriage of Prmce Henry, the court will remove to Potsdam. VIENNA, May 22. It is estimated that 250,000 acres of land are flooded ia consequence of an embankment of the Mississippi river bursting, and the damage is put down at 4,000,000 dollars (,£800,000.) SYDNEY, May 21. Kemp declares that he is willing to meet Teemer on the Paramatta, but states that so far he has not received any communication from Teemer, and that nothing can i be done until a challenge has been received. Hanlan stated that he was commissioned to back Teemer against Kemp on the Nepean River. SYDNEY, May 22. In the Legislative Assembly Mr. Dibbs gave notice of motion of a direct vote of censure on the Government in connection their action in dealing with tbe Chinese question. The motion requests the withdrawal of the Chinese Bill, introduced by the Government. As the motion is considered one of want of confidence in tbe Government, the the House at once adjourned. At an anti-Chinese demonstration tonight, it was resolved to petition the Legislative Council to pass the Chinese Restriction Bill. The council of the Federated Seamen's Union have decided to request all maritime organisations to substitute Europeans for Chinese labor, and also that San Francisco and Chinese boats be requested to do the same. ADELAIDE, May 22. Mr. Playford, the Premier, has communicated with the Premier of N.Z., asking if the colony can be represented at the Chinese conference by a menrber of the Executive Council. It is stated that Germany meditates imposing reprisals against France in consequence of the latter insulting Germany in crossing the French frontier. The Government intend to raise the duty on imports from Russia 50 per cent. St. PETERSBURG, May 21. Tbe Government intend claiming indemnity for the Russian subjects killed in the recent conflict on tbe Afghan frontier, and threatens to demand the Governor of Herat.
