The dense fog which prevails to day detained the Te Anau's arrival. She reached Port Chalmers at two o'clock, but it was five before she arrived at Dunedin. Some 200 or 300 persons, mostly young men with a good sprinkling of the larrikin class, were on the wharf. No attempt was made to land the Chinese passengers, and the officers of the vessel refused to give any information whatever as to their movements.
