At Hawera sale on Thursday, there was a fair attendance, but business was not lively. Yearlings to 18-months-old steers made 30s ; 2-year-old do, £2 7s 6d ; 3to 4-year-old forward bullocks, £1 ; cows and calves, £2 Is; milch cows — a good lot averaged £3 14s ; store cows, 3Gs ; store ewes, 5s ; ewes in lamb, 5s 9d ; fat ewss, 7s 3d; shorn lambs, 5s 7d.
