HAWERA ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Hawora Road Board was held on Saturday. Present — Messrs. Fantham, (Chairman) Scott, Casey, and Wilson.

CORRESPONDENCE.

Letter from Col. Secretary and Commissioner of Crown Lands with reference to routine work.

C. Cox wrote drawing attention to bad condition of crossing of road across railway from Conway road to Eltham. Matter left; in hands of foreman of works to be looked into.

ACCOUNTS.

A few accounts were passed for payment.

This mentioned several matters of routine. With regard to Waingongoro crossing near Neill road, the Foreman stated that he bad met Mr. Stewart, of the Waimate Board, and that it was thought best to improve the present approaches. — Approved.

CONTRACTS lET.

The following tenders were dealt with : No. 60 — Fraser road — G. H. Cooper, 9s 9d per chain (accepted). 63— Dale road— J. H. Hayward, ,£l7 10s (accepted) ; Robinson, £19 18" ; C. H. Smith, £20 ; A. Richardson, £19. - 64 — Onewhaia road — Three ' tenders sent in ; all declined, being too higji.' ! '

65 — Skeet road — Retford and Roach, £11 10s accepted. G6— Dalziell Road: J. Coleman, £46 (accepted) ; * Retford and Roach, £51 ; A. Gibson, £59 9s ; J. H. Hayward, £62 ; R. Slattery, £72. 67— Neill Road: T. Jenkins, £8 (accepted) ; J. Munro, £9 15s ; J. Christoffel, £12 15s ; J. Pratt, £9 15s.

GB— Mangawhero Road : Guillison, 10s (accepted) ; Jenkins, i 522 ; • Munro, 7s; O. Robinson, £17 ss.

G9 — Chapman road — Guillioson, (accepted) ; Robinson, £12 ss ; Ritter and Co., £11.

70— Rotikari road — Jenkins, (accepted ; Kerr and others, J635 5 Christoffoll .£lO4. The sctccessfal tender was decided by ballot. The clerk was instructed to write to the Land Board re money due to Rotakari road.

NOTICE OP MOTION.

The Chairman gave notice oi motion, That the vote for the road to the sea be rescinded. The board then adjourned.
