WELLINGTON, January 26.
A girl named Clara Mong Chong, wife of a Chinaman, bas been arrested on suspicion of being the mother of the child found in a sugar bag in Evans' Bay recently. She was brought up at the B.M. Court to-day, and was remanded.
A man named George Barnes has been arrested on a charge of stealing £90 from his brother.
A man named Dyer is reported to be missing. He is supposed to be suffering from religious mania.
