LONDON, January 26.
Mr. Hugh Watt, member for Glasgow, has delivered a lecture in London, describing the great mineral resources of the northern territory of Australia. Lord Brassey, who was present, agreed with tbe remarks of Mr. Watt, but stated that the climate was best suited for Coolies.
SYDNEY, January 25.
A reaction has set in in silver-mining stock, and shares in some of the companies have dropped £5.
PEBTH, (W.A.), January 25.
Several important discoveries of gold are reported from Baeburn and the Darling range.
A Melbourne firm have offered £50,000 for one claim, from which a sample of stuff gave Boz to the ton.
