GREYMOUTH CATTLE SALE.

Grethouth, January 24.

At the cattle sales, prices ruled very low compared with previous markets. Wanganui cattle fetched the highest prices at M 15s, as against JE6 10s for local bullocks. Prime beef cannot be quoted higher than 17s 6d per lOOlbs for heavy weights; 19s for higher weights. Sheep (Wanganui), 10s 6d to lls ; ewes, 8a 9d to 9s ; Canterbury crossbreds, 9s 6d; prime mutton is quoted at 2d per lb; fat lambs, 10s 6d to lls 6d per head. Fat pigs— Small ones, 29s to 31s; dairy fed porkers, extra fat, JB2 7s 6d to £2 10s.
