Manaia School Committee.

The committee met on Tuesday, 3rd January. Present— Messrs. F. Cowern, Hastie, Yorke, and McCarthy (chairman). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Resolved, That a Bum of 21s be voted to Miss Wallis to enable her to purchase such prize as she may prefer. It was agreed that a sum of 10s to 15b be placed at the disposal of the chairman and Mr. Cowern for the purchase of football or cricket material for the school, subject to consent of subscribers to the prize fund, the expenditure to be charged against that fund.

Some of the committee thought it would be well to consult (subscribers before iming any balance of nrize money for other purposes, and it was resolved that children be requested to ask parents who subscribed to the prize fund to state if they would object to% part of the balance of the prize fund being spent in improving the swinge ancLgymnasium.
