There was brisk bidding at Messrs Nolan, Tonks, and Co.'s auction Bale of timber at Mr. Kennedy's yards, most of tbe timber offered sold treely at satisfactory prices. Mr. T. King, chairman of the New Plymouth Harbor Board, Messrs. E. H. Godsal, of Otakeho, and T. Bayly, of Waitara. all proceeded by the express train this morning to Wellington in answer to summonses callirjg on them to appear before the Parliamentary committee appointed to consider the position ot the finances of the New Plymouth Ts.ar\>or Board in relation to foftUS and to ' harbor rates.
