Patea Meat Tinning Works.

The plans and specifications for the buildings intended for the above have been prepared by Mr. ODea, architect, and tenders are invited for the erection of the same within three weeks from the date of acceptance of tender. The main building will be 100 feet long by 46 broad, and is divided into two compartments — On&.fc* WJ, tV>& okW Sor mutton; each running tbe full length of tbe building. The plan of the sheds show that they will be open throughout under the roof, the necessary supports for the roof and the meat and the balks for running the carcases of beef along being provided by pillar and tr,estle work. The roof is a ventilating one throughout nearly the full length of the'chambers. The sheds will be well lighted there being no less than 20 windows shown on tbe plan. The studs pf the front of the sheds will be fourteen feet of the back ten feet high. All the lower timbers will be heart of totara. We are requested to state that Mr. ODea, the architect, will not tender for erecting tbe building, as it was currently reported a few days ago that be proposed to do so. The successful tenderer will have to " wire in " M only three weeks are allowed for the completion of the buildings, after which a penalty of £2 per day will be charged.
