The torpedo lost during practice some days ago has not yet been found, but it is stated that it has twice been seen near the Heads, but the observers, fearing it was charged, left it alone. The Government have offered the usual admiralty reward of .£2O for its recovery. The skating rink, recently opened here, is becoming very popular, notwithstanding that several accidents of a somewhat serious character have occurred. He had very ingeniously got hold of the key from the waistcoat of the storemau, and gave it to a locksmith to alter a key he had made from a pattern on wood. The storeman was suspicious as he had missed the key, and Marshall was caught red handed. / PALMEBSTON N., November 5. f A meeting of ex-Imperial soldiers interested in land claims was held last evening, when the following resolution was passed — That a petition be presented to the House praying for a rehearing of claims by an independent tribunal, or such other final settlement as justice demands.
