Castaway (N.Z 5.8., vol. v., p. 51) r by Traducer, out of Mermaid, was a great performer on the turf himß^lf, and was full brother to those celebrated racehorses Malice, Lurline,, Le Loup, and Lure. Oaetoff s stock are admitted to . be the beet hacks in the district, while bis sons, Kuapehu and Tongariro,* have been very successful on the turf.
