The race for the Coßwick stakes, run at Newmarket fo-day was won by Homewood, Bendigo second, Careton, (? Carlton) third.
MELBOURNE, October 11.
Isonomy, not Silverraine, as previously announced, has been scratched for the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups. Moorhouse and Bowuiont are also scratched for the Melbourne Cup.

Tbe following are horses which still remain in tor tbe Caulfield Cup : — Spade Guinea, Silvermine, Dunlop, Pasha, Lord William, Volcano, Recall, Rufus, Mozart. The Levite, Meteor, Phaon, Lam, Remus, Newminster, Burrilda, Poehantas, King of the West, Escutcheon, Dividend, Menatti, Oakleigb, Emerald, Lord Allen, Whtebait, and Gaslnaner.
The latest betting on the Caulfield Cup is as follows:— 6 to 1 against Volcano, 7 to 1 Silvermine, 8 to 1 Oakleigb, 10 to 1 Meteor, 10 to 1 Lara, 12 to 1 Recall, 15 to 1 Escutcheon, 15 to 1 Pasha, and 20 to 1 all tbe others.
