At the Supreme Court, Tyler, on two charges of breaking and entering, got three years' penal servitude on each charge, to run concurrently. A rabbiter named Frank Lewis was drowned while crossing a flooded river at Akitea in the Wairarapa. In consequence of a disagreement between the senior and junior football clubs, a series of resolutions hostile to the latter has been called for a meeting of the Rugby Union to-morrow night. At the last meeting the junior delegates outroeted the seniors, and caatf ed all before them. An attempt is to be made to obtain a preponderance of voting power by union of the senior clubs. If not successful it will probably lead to a serious split among football clubs. BLENHEIM, October 4. The Awatere Rabbit Board has ordered a shipment of stoats and weasels, to cost £200.
