WOOL FREIGHT.
To the Editor of th« Star.. Sir, — In Wednesday's paper Mr, E. 0, - Homer draws public attention, and justly, to a remark I made on Thursday at the A. aud P. Associaliou meeting—" He thought t'.iat the charge of 5s per bale for shipping wool from Futea to Wellington wns too much." I was then undor the; impression 5s was the charge. I asked a person who has shipped wool from Patea, before going to the meeting, and ha was under the Baoae impression. With your permission, allow me to correct one otb.tr error I made at the meeting 'referred to : " He kuew that there were parsons willing to carry it from New Plymouth to Wellington at 3s 9<l for dumped and 4s 3d for uadumped wool per bale." I should have stated from New Plymouth to Lyttelton. — I am, &c., A. A. Fantham. v P.S.— The rate of freight from New Plymouth to Lyttelton per Union- Corn* pany, including transhipment (3d) to homeward steamers, would be 3s 9(1 per bale for dumped and 4s 3d for undamped.
