Notice is hereby given that it is the intention of the Opunake Town and Districts Committee to bring in and promote at the present session of Parliament a Bill, the short title of which is " The Opunake Harbor Bill, 1887," the objects of such Bill being as follows :—: — To constitute a Harbor Board for the Port of Opunake ; To empower any local body in the Harbor District to devote at its own option a portion of its funds to carry out this Act ; The district affected by the operation of this Act is all that area comprised in the Opunake and Manaia Town Districts and the Stoney River and Waimate Road Districts; To exempt the above-named districts from further rating by the New Plymouth Harbor Board ; To authorise the Board to borrow for constructing and carrying out harbor works a sum of £20,000, at a rate not exceeding 6 per cent, per annum upon the security of reserves described in third schedule, and rents, profits, and dues charged and receivable by the Board ; To authorise the Board to lease reserves for a term of 42 years.
