♦ — From the Wanganui Chronicle we learn that, the following business of interest to ' this* district was transacted at the EducaBoard on Tuesday : — HAWERA. . Architects' report on the Hawera residence was read. \ Resolved to forward a copy to the com- ; mittee, and ask them bow much they will subscribe towards the work. ELTHAM. Letter from teacher at Elthain re bis salary., Resolved, That he be paid on the monthly average until quarterly returns come in. NGAIRE. Letter re sewing mistress and requisites. Left to Inspector to report, and the executive with power to act, the secretary to reply that the board does not appoint sewing mistresses. NORMANBY. The question of the advisability or otherwise of granting a further lease of seven 'years of the school acre to the old lessee was discussed, and it was resolved tbat the old school acre be offered for a further lease of seven years, under the Public Bodies Leaseholds Act, 1886.
