LONDON, May 26. The scene at the fire at the Opera Coiniqup, Paris, was indescribable. When the alarm was given an employee in the theatre turned the gas out, and the audience were left in the darkness. Many were unable to find the doors, and some, of both sexes, in desperation jumped from the windows at a great height, and were killed. The majority of the audience got out Bafely through the ordinary outlets, which were abundantly provided. Fully 60 casualties aie reported. Considerable sensation has been caused in Turkey by the discovery of a plot to depose the Sultan, and place his nephew on the throne. Forty-five will represent the Uuited Kingdom, fifteen India, and thirty the colouies, of which number ten will be Austra'ian. Ten governors will also be nominated by the Queen.

The enquiry regarding the Windsor railway accident was resumed to-day, when Cameron, one of the passengers by the first train, deposed that be had requested the guard to go back along the line and stop tbe express. This the guard declined to do, stating that the signals were sufficient safeguards ngainst accident.
