Wanganui Races, 1888-1889.

♦ No less than 40 nominations have been received for the Two Tear Old Stakes for 18S8, and. 63 nominations for tbe Derbj. Among tbenamee of special interest to this district we note Mr. T. Mason's Karma by Natator — Cletuates entered for both races ; and Mr. W. Stanley's Dantless by the Dauphin — Cora also for both races. The entries are such as to afford stroDg evidence of the success of the club, and promise first lass meetings both next year and 1889.

A well known local sport has purchased the jumping horse Manukonhi, who, it is said, will make his appearance in the Maiden Staeplechase at the forthcoming Egraont meeting.
