SYDNEY, March 30.
The Deportation of Criminals Bill has been introduced and read a first time in the Assembly. It contains very stfinpjeat provisions. Foreign criminals found at large are to be deemed guilty of felony, arrested without warrant, and sentenced to penal servitudo at the Governor's pleasure. Masters of vessels are to be subject to a heavy penalty for landing criminals, innocently or otherwise, and bound to deliver the list of all persons on hoard and what constitutes the foreign ; the penal position to be denned by the Governor-in-Council and gazetted with fourteen days' notice.
(SPECIAL UNTT.BD PRESS ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, March 29. The Crimes Bill provides that two
magistrates may summarily sentence convicted persons to six months' imprisonment in cases of conspiracy, boycotting, rioting, assaulting officers of the law, and taking forcible and unlawful possession. Graver crimes may be tried in England upon the certificate of the English and Irish Attorney-Generals.
